These Pretzels Covers are Making Me Thirsty Crazy!

My husband tells me I'm neurotic.  He says I have full blown OCD when it comes to the covers on our bed.  He says I am passing that neurosis on to our daughter.  This might be true.  As a cover control freak, I see the signs.

In the morning, I leave my bed in precisely whatever state of chaos it has managed to become through the night.  It remains that way all day.  Unless we are having company, and there is a greater than small chance they may see our room, I never make the bed.

Yet, when the time of day rolls around for me to crawl in and make my way to slumber land...the covers have to be perfect.  I mean, perfect.  They have to be pulled up and flipped back neatly, they must be covering both sides of the bed an equal amount, and the pillows have to be lined up.  It causes me distress when Andy gets in the bed before I have had the chance to go about my ritual of crazy.  I do it anyway...and this drives him right up the wall.  It's not new.  It's not something I have taken to doing since we've had kids, or since we've been in this house.  No, I've done it always.  I figure, he oughtta be used to it by now.  He's not.

When he is in the bed first, I start on my side and work my way to his.  He sighs and moans and complains the entire time.  "Build a bridge" is what I say, "and get over it."  I don't do it to torture him, though I bet he thinks I get some sort of impish satisfaction out of imposing my quirks onto him (hmph, he may be right...a little).  The main thing is that I simply can't sleep unless the bed is "just so."

Anyway, I was just sitting here wondering why I seem to be afflicted with this particular brand of strange.  The rest of the house is in constant disarray...and if you've been reading for a while, you've even seen pictures in this post.  So what is it?  What is this freak of nature need for neatness at bedtime?  What I've come up with is nothin'.  A big fat zilch.  Oh well, I'm tired and the messy covers are playing a siren song.

You crack me up! You and I should have coffee one day! Wait - I think we are many states apart! LOL! I have this thing about loving my quirks and enjoying imposing them on my hubby! ;) & I too leave my bed a huge mess all day... unless I am expecting co. that would wander up that way!.. and then at night I need my covers 'just so'... h/e my man makes the bed 'just so' if he arrives there first... Maybe that is the solution???? Until next time~ Jenn

HA! I love it... I am the same way...kind of. If the bed is not made properly, I find it hard to sleep.

We are the same way, why make a bed daily? lol. Actually, we've gotten to the point where we have 2 comforters on the bed. Mine and his. We don't like to share blankets. :)

I 'remake' the bed when I go to bed and yes, stuff has to be in order and certain positions. Why? Is that neurotic? lol.

I thought it was normal!

I am like that too- I insist my husband doesn't make the bed because he doesn't tuck in the top sheet like I prefer....ha;)
Have a great weekend:)

Ha, you are funny! I'm a Seinfeld fan, so I have to ask- tucked or untucked? :-)
I understand about wanting to make the bed neat before you go to bed. I do that, too. Not every night, but the nights I get to bed before my husband does. Our bed is really messed up though-- He doesn't like top sheets, so he uses a fleece blanket underneath. Then, I am cold and like an electric blanket, but that makes him too warm, so there is an electric blanket on my side, ABOVE the top sheet. So, we have this messed up thing of blanket(on his side), top sheet, electric blanket(on my side), then the quilt...but he's still too cold, so a comforter on top of that. It drives me insane! :)

Oh my gosh, I totally do this, too. I could care less about the covers when I wake up. But it drives me up the wall if the flat sheet and blanket don't line up and if the covers are all crooked when I try to sleep.

Girl you know you had me with the title..LOVE IT!!

So are said covers tucked or untucked.

I do not suffer from this affliction that you are writing about. Jon and I each have our own blanket, there is no sharing because he is a blanket hog, though he would blame the hogging on me.

I'm particular about my covers, too, you are not weird! Or, maybe I'm weird too. Oh well, you aren't alone!

I think I have a touch of that same OCD. Our blankets are all over the place, but when I get into bed I straighten them out. Shh, I also have TWO of my own, and hubby has his own comforter. It's the ONLY way!!!

You are so funny!! I love when I find people who do weird things like me. I never make our bed either but I totally have OCD about it being all even on the sides. Isn't it nice to know you're not the only one that does these crazy things!? :)
Have a great weekend girl!

Hahaha...I'm the same! I cannot get into an unmade bed. It drives me crazy. I will make the bed right before I jump in! I make it every morning, but the kids play on it sometimes and I have to redo it before I get in! Yep, I'm neurotic.
